Build your own tools. Publish them to their dashboard.
Interactive Firm Tools turn advisor calculators, explainers, and decision models into reusable, advisor-reviewed experiences that can be published to a specific client dashboard.
By FinDash Team
See a firm-specific decision model become a reusable Interactive Firm Tool and a deliberately published client dashboard experience.
Product walkthrough
What happens in the video
- Start with the advisor's process: An advisor describes the practice buy-in decision they want a client to explore, including price, financing term, and annual take-home pay.
- Turn the method into a tool: The firm-built model presents the buy-in, financing, breakeven year, and projected long-term difference as an interactive client experience.
- Review before publishing: The advisory team checks the tool and its assumptions before choosing to add a client copy to the dashboard.
- Place it beside the plan: The published tool appears alongside the client's net worth, cash flow, and document workspace.
Build the tool your clients actually need
Every advisory firm has a process that does not fit neatly into off-the-shelf software: a calculator used in meetings, a decision explainer, a scorecard, or a model refined over years of client work. Interactive Firm Tools turn that process into something a client can use—not another spreadsheet the advisor has to screen-share.
The firm can build the source with Claude or another development tool, then bring it into FinDash. The value is not the builder brand; it is preserving the firm's method as a reusable client experience.
Bring in the source and preview it safely
FinDash accepts React, HTML, SVG, Mermaid, and Markdown source. React tools compile against an approved package list, and the source is retained so the firm can continue editing the tool instead of starting over from a flattened screenshot or PDF.
Every preview runs in an isolated browser frame with network connections disabled. Advisors can test the controls, review the calculations, and correct the assumptions before the tool is saved or shown to a client.
Save once. Reuse deliberately.
A finished tool can be named, described, and saved to the Firm Library as reusable firm material. When another client needs the same process, the advisor can create a client copy without rebuilding the underlying experience.
Choosing Add live tool to dashboard creates the client copy, marks that reviewed version ready, publishes it, and places its widget on the specific client dashboard. Until that deliberate publication action, the imported draft is not visible to the client.
The boundary is part of the product
Interactive Firm Tools are self-contained. The sandbox cannot read FinDash client records, make network requests, navigate the portal, or write values back to the financial plan. A tool works only with the logic and inputs contained inside that experience.
Firm Library content should remain reusable firm material rather than a place for client PII. When a client deliverable is converted into a reusable template, FinDash checks for retained source-client identity data. Everything a client sees is a version an advisor chose to review and publish.
FinDash MCP questions
- What is an Interactive Firm Tool?
- It is a firm-built calculator, explainer, scorecard, or decision model imported into FinDash as a reusable interactive experience. A firm can keep the source in its library and publish reviewed client copies to specific dashboards.
- Can a firm build the tool with Claude?
- Yes. A firm can use Claude or another builder to create supported React, HTML, SVG, Mermaid, or Markdown source, then import and review that source in FinDash. Claude is one possible builder, not a requirement.
- Can an imported tool read or change client data?
- No. Interactive Firm Tools run in a sandbox that blocks network connections and portal access. They cannot read FinDash client records or write values back to a plan; inputs and logic must be contained within the tool itself.
- When does a client see the tool?
- A client sees a tool only after an advisor creates the client copy, marks the reviewed version ready, and publishes it to that client's dashboard.
