Tax Scenarios
Model planning alternatives and compare their projected federal tax results.
Start With a Baseline
Open Tax Center for the client and create or select a scenario that reflects the current plan. Confirm the tax year, filing status, state, income, deductions, credits, payments, capital gains, and other inputs before using it as the baseline for a recommendation.
Create Alternatives
Create additional scenarios for the alternatives you want to test, such as a Roth conversion, different gain realization, charitable giving, itemized deductions, or another income-timing decision. Each scenario keeps its own tax inputs and calculated results.
Scenario Comparison
Use the comparison workspace to review all selected scenarios side by side. The current product does not impose a four-scenario documentation limit. Compare projected tax, effective and marginal rates, after-tax income, MAGI & Phase-Out Analysis, and the line items driving the change.
Tax Line Item Editor
Use the Tax Line Item Editor and the supporting Schedule A, Schedule D, Social Security, AMT, payment, and credit details to refine source data. Review Form 1040 View after editing rather than treating the form-style display as an input screen.
Share the Result
Export the scenario comparison to PDF when a static client or CPA deliverable is useful. A projection is a planning estimate, so confirm assumptions and do not present it as a filed return or tax advice from FinDash.
