my529 Custodial Integration
Register the firm's my529 relationship and map college-savings accounts to clients.
Complete Provider Setup First
Contact hello@findash.ai to begin. FinDash submits Form 705 (Back-Office Service Provider Registration), then the firm's my529 Master Administrator links the firm to FinDash in the my529 advisor portal. Use the Data Provider Selection Guide in Firm Settings when completing the provider steps.
Register the LPOA Number
After my529 confirms the relationship, an authorized custodian manager opens Register my529 LPOA Number in Firm Settings → Custodian Integrations and enters the confirmed value. FinDash then identifies the daily files associated with that relationship.
Data Delivery
my529 sends daily files by SFTP in Schwab Portfolio Center format. The integration processes position, price, portfolio, and transaction data; files are typically posted by 10:30 PM Mountain Time according to the in-product setup guidance.
Map Accounts
Search by beneficiary, owner, or account number. Use Map to link an existing client or Create to create a FinDash client and map the account. Review beneficiary and owner names carefully because a 529 beneficiary is not always the account owner or primary client.
Permissions and Sync
Only the firm owner or Custodian Admin can register, map, create, unmap, or select Sync Now. Other permitted users can review account and mapping status without changing the custodian configuration.
Step by step
- Initiate Setup: Email hello@findash.ai and complete the my529 provider-linking process.
- Register the LPOA: Enter the confirmed LPOA number in Firm Settings → Custodian Integrations.
- Sync Accounts: Wait for daily file delivery or use Sync Now after the connection is active.
- Map Carefully: Link by owner and beneficiary context, or create the correct client account.
