Cash Flow Scenarios and Projections
Build the planning scenarios used by Goals, My Plan, taxes, and client review.
Financial Future Mode
Financial Future is the scenario builder for expected income, expenses, savings, debt payments, tax assumptions, and planning events. Historical transactions explain what happened; Financial Future explains what the advisor wants to model next.
Scenario Prerequisite
Goals and My Plan work best after at least one manual cash-flow scenario exists. Goals can generate savings or expense rules into a selected scenario, and My Plan uses the scenario as the projection base.
Income Items
Add salaries, bonuses, Social Security, pensions, rental income, dividends, business income, and other income sources with annual amounts, start/end dates, family assignment, category, and tax type.
Expense Items
Model housing costs, insurance, healthcare, education, lifestyle expenses, debt payments, savings contributions, and other outflows. Set date ranges and escalation assumptions when the amount changes over time.
Scenarios
Create multiple scenarios to compare retirement ages, spending levels, income timing, savings strategies, Roth conversions, home purchases, education goals, or state-tax assumptions. Scenario-specific tax residency lets NJ/FL or other state comparisons stay isolated.
AI-Assisted Edits
Use the Cash Flow AI assistant to add or update planning items from prompts, then confirm the title, amount, date range, category, and tax treatment before presenting the plan.
Planning Views
Use Sankey for a quick inflow/outflow picture and Timeline for month-by-month or long-range review across income, expenses, savings, taxes, and net cash flow.
My Plan Integration
Projection results surface in Goals / My Plan. The projection engine can combine cash flow, account balances, tax treatment, withdrawals, Roth conversion rules, Social Security, RMDs, historical market scenarios, and Monte Carlo assumptions depending on the scenario.
