Interactive Tool Studio
Turn an advisor idea into a reusable, interactive client tool by generating the source with a trusted external builder and importing it into FinDash.
What is Interactive Tool Studio?
Interactive Tool Studio imports, validates, previews, and saves custom client-facing tools. Write the source yourself or generate it with a trusted external AI or code builder, then paste the complete result in to preview, test, and save it for your firm.
When to build a custom tool
A custom tool is one option among several, not the default. Reach for it when a client needs help with a specialized question or visualization and letting them change inputs would make the answer clearer — for example a firm-specific calculator, an interactive comparison, or planning support for a jurisdiction an existing tool does not cover. Check first whether an existing FinDash tool or a PDF report already fits.
How It Works
Choose one client outcome, write instructions describing the tool for an external builder, copy FinDash’s guarded prompt into a trusted external AI or code builder, copy the complete generated source, then paste, preview, and save it in Tool Studio.
Review before saving
Before saving, test every input and edge case, and verify any country-specific regulations, calculations, labels, and disclosures the tool presents. Saved tools are reusable from the Firm Library.
Step by step
- Choose one client outcome: Start with a specific question, comparison, calculator, or visualization—not a long list of unrelated features.
- Write instructions for an external builder: Describe what the tool should help the client do, including inputs, calculations, and any disclosures.
- Generate the source outside FinDash: Copy the guarded prompt into a trusted external AI or code builder. FinDash does not generate the source in this workflow.
- Copy the complete source: Copy the complete React, HTML, SVG, Mermaid, or Markdown source returned by the external builder.
- Paste, preview, and save: Bring the generated code back into Tool Studio, test the inputs and results, then save it for your firm.
